Our master programme offers a comprehensive and innovative training in astrophysics, as a joint curriculum of the Fundamental Physics and Applications Master of Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and to the Fundamental Physics and Applications Master of Université de Montpellier. The first year is specific to each master and gives advanced knowledge in fundamental physics as well as a preliminary specialisation in astrophysics. The second year is common to both sites and is entirely devoted to astrophysics. Its content spans the theoretical and observational aspects of modern astrophysics, including instrumentation and numerical simulations.

Acquired skills and prospects

At the conclusion of the master, students will have acquired theoretical and practical skills in the astrophysics domain, preparing mainly to a follow-up by a PhD thesis. It is also possible to join the private sector at the master level.
